Avril Lavigne has talked with Galaxie magazine about her new look and many other things. And although she turned more feminine, her strong character remains the same when she showed up six years ago with the smashing hit Complicated. The Canadian songstress says she is the same person but more grown up. Lavigne admits, "When I was 17, I was pretty tomboyish. Growing up, you become more feminine. I feel like I am still the same person but older." Regarding her possible competitors such as Kelly Clarkson and Ashlee Simpson, Avril without any doubt says, "I am the first one, I don’t have to compete with anyone!" She adds, "I just live life the way I do. It is either you like me or you don’t."
